Aircraft Hourly Block Rates

Browse our current aircraft hire and flying rates below for aircraft based at Brighton City Airport. All aircraft pricing is charged from brakes off to brakes on, providing clear and transparent billing for private aircraft hire, hour building, cross-country flying, and SEP training flights.

Our discounted aircraft rate is available to all pilots on their first flight with Star Flight Training and to members purchasing block hours for ongoing flying and hour building. Basic Training rates apply to all SEP revalidation training, refresher flights, instructional flying, and aircraft hire checkout flights completed with one of our qualified flight instructors.

Airfield Charges

Brighton City Airport charges the following fees, which are billed in addition to the aircraft hire and training rates. Landing fees apply on each full-stop landing. Circuit fees apply on each touch and go, and on go-arounds initiated by the pilot. The instrument approach fee applies only when returning to Shoreham under IFR and flying the RNP approach.

Memberships

New members joining before September 2026 receive their first year of membership free.

Annual membership is required for all pilots hiring aircraft with Star Flight Training. For just £179 per year, membership includes a 5% discount in our onsite Pilot Shop, unlimited use of our bean-to-cup coffee machine, access to our flight planning facilities and briefing rooms, online aircraft booking, use of life jackets and headsets, and insurance cover for all flights.
